3 who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,

Shammah (The Lord Is There)
Key Question: How do I find God even when He feels far away?
Remember
- God honors the pursuit
- His presence changes everything!
Three Things Shammah Teaches Us
1. Shammah Means God Is Perfectly Present
Psalm 139:7 – “Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence?”
God Is Always Present
If God is present, He is perfectly present.
Though God is always present, He is not always felt.
Ezekiel 48:35 – “The Lord is There.”
Key Thought: God doesn’t want to simply visit—He desires to abide.
2. Shammah Means God Is Present in the Peaks and the Pits
Psalm 139:8 – “If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!”
Mountain moments mark us.
Valley moments make us.
Key Thought: He is just as present in the valley as on the mountain.
3. Shammah Tells Us God Is Near Even When He Feels Far
Psalm 139:12 – “Even the darkness is not dark to you…”
Truth: God is never silent, never absent. Feelings can lie—faith must lead.
Key Thought: Even in the silence, He is still Shammah.
How to Draw Close When I Feel Far Away (Like Elijah):
- Step Out of the Noise
- Sit Still
- Stay Until You See
Questions:
- Where in your life do you need to recognize His presence again?
- How can you invite Yahweh Shammah into your home, your mind, your week?
- Are you living aware of His presence?
