This Is Good News
The Gospel isn’t just good news we receive. It’s good news we give away. We are guardians of the gate sent to stand between desperation and destiny, and point the broken toward Jesus.
Isiah 61:3 gives us four powerful exchanges the Gospel brings:
1. Beauty for ashes: God restores where you’ve been ruined.
2. Oil of gladness for mourning: God anoints where you ache.
3. Garment of praise for a faint spirit: God blesses where you’re broken.
4. Oaks of righteousness: God strengthens where you’re stressed.
We live in a world standing on the edge, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, crying out for hope. Many around us ask, “Is there any hope left?”
My friend, the answer is a resounding yes! In fact, we witnessed it on Sunday when 20 people went public with their faith through baptism. One of the most powerful moments was at the end of service when several of those who were baptized pointed out someone in the room who gave them hope, led them, and pointed them to Jesus. WOW! That’s the church being the Church. Hope dealers. Guardians at the gate. Every invitation, conversation, moment of intentionality is a seed of hope planted in someone’s life.
This Sunday, we will gather together and discover more good news about the Gospel. We will also have a special time of prayer to bless our students and teachers as they return to school. This is always a special time as we pray every student will walk in God’s covering, every parent be filled with peace, and every educator be strengthened with wisdom and grace. We are sending them to be hope dealers in their spheres of influence at their schools.
At the end of service, I have an important announcement to share with our church family.
I am hope-filled for the future of Grace because this Gospel is hope!
Believing for revival,
Pastor
