There’s No Place Like Home For The Holidays

At the Norris household the stockings have been hung, the tree has been lit, the Black Friday deals grabbed, and the cyber Monday gifts ordered. What a whirlwind! This year my boys are asking for a few more Nerf guns to add to their ever growing arsenal. I find those little styrofoam darts under every couch and between every cushion. The blessing is that stepping on a nerf dart in the middle of the night is not as painful as stepping on a lego. Which reminds me, they’ve also asked for more legos.

As the year draws to a close you have hosts of gatherings to attend; office parties, get togethers and year-end meetings. It may be “the most wonderful time of the year,” but also, let’s be honest, for some it can be the most busiest, stressful, and depressing time of the year.

Do you long for that nostalgic traditional Christmas? The silent night over a blanket of fresh snow. The gathering of close family and friends. The glow of a warm fire and the room lit solely by the twinkling lights of a tree. I am smiling as I write this. It’s true, there is no place like home for the holidays.

This year I hope we can help bring a little of that Christmas spirit into your home.  There will not be snow, and the fire likely isn’t needed, but bringing the focus to the center of the story, and finding a deeper, more meaningful relationship with Christ is the heart of Christmas. In the original Christmas story wise men traveled from afar to find a home where they could meet the Messiah. Today, wise men still search Him out.

Jenna and I invite you to join us this Sunday as we launch our Christmas series, “Home For The Holidays”. It is part of a beautiful celebration of Christmas this month.
