There is a wide open door before you to the opportunity of a lifetime!
Jesus told His faithful church in the city of Philadelphia the following, “I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.” Revelation 3:8 ESV
The church of Philadelphia was located in a strategic region. It was known as the gateway to the east. The city had a mission of bringing Roman culture to the east as the empire expanded. It was a city filled with opportunity.
Jesus, speaking to His church, reminds them that they had the same call. Not to bring forth the kingdom of Rome, but to bring the kingdom and culture of heaven. They saw themselves as having “a little strength“, but Jesus was reminding them that He was the one who opens doors that no one can shut and shuts doors that no one can open. In other words He’s opened the door to a great opportunity and He is their strength.
At the end of the message on Sunday I shared a few reasons why we miss opportunities.
Why I miss an opportunity:
⁃ I don’t believe I am able.
⁃ I don’t know what I don’t know.
⁃ I don’t believe I deserve it.
⁃ I don’t believe I can make use of it.
You’ll notice that every single one of those reasons are centered on self. “I” don’t, “I” can’t, “I’m” not able, “I” don’t deserve it.
When we look within ourselves for the resources and strength to walk through open doors what we will find is just a little bit of strength. It’s true. When we see that little bit of strength we realize that what we have isn’t enough to meet the opportunity that stands before us.
This is the reason why Jesus said He is the one that holds the key of David. He has the key to all the resources. All the provision. All of the promises. In other words He’s the man with the keys to everything that you need.
In order to step through the door of opportunity and realize its possibilities only requires one thing. We simply need to put trust in the man who holds the keys. He’s the key man. Jesus is the key to everything!
This weekend we will be joined with a longtime friend of mine Will Ford. Will is a prophetic voice to our nation and carries a call to prayer, repentance and reconciliation. His testimony is truly supernatural. I promise this is a service you do not want to miss!
