The Unexpected Battle
When David stepped onto the battlefield, he expected the giant to throw spears at him. But when he stepped off the battlefield, I doubt he ever expected to face friendly fire.
Scripture tells us that shortly after David’s victory, Saul began targeting him and throwing spears not once, not twice, but multiple times. And when that didn’t work, Saul began setting traps, hoping David would be killed.
What do you do when you find yourself dodging spears from people you respect? From those closest to you? From people you worship with or even call friends?
David shows us a powerful biblical model for how to respond when you find yourself in seasons like this.
This Sunday, as we continue in our series The Giant Slayer, we’ll talk about what I believe is one of the most important lessons we can learn from David’s life.
It’s also Child Dedication Sunday. Families will be dedicating their children to the Lord, and we’ll have the privilege of celebrating with them as they take this important spiritual step.
Exciting things are happening at Grace World. There is a fresh wind of God’s presence and a sense that we are stepping into a season of harvest as we move toward Easter.
Come expectant this Sunday. Who knows what God will do?
I can’t wait to see you there!
Believing for Revival,
Pastor
