Thank You For Making a Difference in the Ukraine

This past Sunday I shared with the church an opportunity to partner with Convoy of Hope to provide relief to the refuges fleeing the war in Ukraine.  You responded with love and generosity and because of that we were enabled to send a check for $10,000 to Convoy of Hope.

Here is an update from Convoy of Hope from March 8:

“Already, more than 1.7 million Ukrainians have chosen to cross into bordering countries, mostly into Poland, where Convoy of Hope has set up operations. More refugees are expected in the coming days and weeks.

Convoy of Hope’s team members and partners across Europe are busy meeting the most basic needs with food, water, hygiene kits, and more. Convoy has also secured warehouses through existing partnerships across Eastern Europe and is serving refugees in six nearby countries.

Much of Convoy’s distribution is done through local churches and humanitarian organizations on the ground. Churches and community centers are moving out pews and other furniture to replace them with mattresses, blankets, kettles of soup, and anything else that might make the bitterly cold and restless nights a little more bearable.”

At this moment, our fellowship and the Convoy of hope is feeding, clothing, and sheltering thousands of Ukrainian people.  This is a need that continues to grow.  It is wonderful to have a ministry outreach that is prepared to respond so quickly, but they do need our continued support.

We have kept a giving link named “Ukraine Special Offering” up on our online giving portal that will remain for the next few weeks.  Everything given here goes directly to Convoy of Hope.  This is the most practical and efficient way of helping at this moment.

Church, keep this crisis in your prayers.

Here are four ways you can pray with us:

1. Pray for the safety and protection of the Ukrainian people.

2. Pray for wisdom for our world leaders.

3. Pray for peace to come in the midst of conflict.

4. Pray that the church will respond with the gospel and compassion.

Thank you, Grace World Outreach Church, for being a church with a heart for the nations!

PS… This weekend we begin a new series entitled, “Tale of Three Kings”.  This series is taken from one of my favorite books by the same title. I believe you’ll find the messages to be impactful.

PSS… It’s also Daylight Savings time.  Don’t forget to plan ahead so that you don’t arrive late this weekend!
