Where do you place your trust?

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” (Psalm 20:7)

Did you know that how we manage our finances can reveal much about our spiritual health? Indeed, one of the most telling signs of a healthy relationship with Christ is a healthy perspective on money.

Why? Because stewarding our earthly resources is not merely a financial discipline; it is a spiritual discipline.

Jesus Himself made it clear: “No one can serve two masters…you cannot serve both God and money.” (Matthew 6:24)

In today’s world, many place their security in their jobs, their 401(k)s, business ventures, or even the strength of the economy. These are the modern-day “horses and chariots” the psalmist warns about. They are destined to falter and fail.

However, those who fully entrust their lives to the Lord recognize His Kingdom is eternal and secure. We understand that everything belongs to the Lord and what we currently hold is eternally His.

This perspective is key to passing the “money test.”

This weekend, I invite you to reflect: Where have you placed your trust? Is it evident not just in your words but also in your actions?

We will explore these questions and more in our ongoing series, “Beyond Blessed.”

I look forward to seeing you!

Grace To You,

Pastor
