Join Us For A Special Palm Sunday

As we approach Passion Week, it’s a great opportunity to pause and prepare our hearts to remember the most impactful moment in history.

In the days before the Crucifixion, Jesus remained fully engaged in ministry. He taught in the temple. He shared meals with His disciples. He served them with an unconditional love. He modeled what full commitment to the mission look like.

What does that mean for us today?

Number one it’s a call to intimacy. Just as Jesus spent His final hours in deep communion with His Father, we too, are invited into a deep relationship with God. Over these next several days, I encourage you to set aside time to spend time with the Lord and in His word. Read through the Passion Week and Crucifixion accounts in all four of the gospels.

Secondly, it’s a call to servanthood. Jesus demonstrated what it means to serve others by washing the feet of His disciples and caring for their needs up to His very last breath. Let us also follow suit by serving those around us with humility and love.

Next, it’s a call to sacrifice. The Cross reminds us of the love Jesus had for us and the cost of our salvation. Let us likewise find ways to lay our lives down in service towards one another. Sacrificing our time, resources or even conveniences for the sake of the Kingdom of God.

Lastly, it’s a call to mission. Jesus’s final instructions to His disciples was to go and make disciples of all nations. The call and the commission never end. Jesus is worthy of the full reward of His sacrifice which is found in every soul that comes to know Him.

It’s likely that you have friends and neighbors that will likely come to church if you simply invite them, especially during this season. We encourage you to be praying for your friends, neighbors, co-workers and loved ones and take the opportunity to ask them to join you in celebrating our risen, triumphant, resurrected Savior!

I look forward to celebrating with you this week!

Grace to You,

Pastor

PS – Young families, make plans to attend the Easter Brunch on Saturday, March 30th at 10am. This will be held on the church grounds, in the outside courtyard. Bring your kids to decorate eggs with you as well as take a family photo (so make sure to dress nicely!) There is no cost to attend, but we do ask that you register here.

Also, a big thank you to everyone who gave in the offering on Sunday to sponsor our Royal Rangers and their upcoming Pow-Wow. You truly blessed this ministry and the young men who will be able to attend this discipleship weekend!
