I Will Not Bow!

You are being formed today into the person you are becoming tomorrow.

The question is, who is forming us, and what are we being formed into? The Bible tells us, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2, ESV).

Nebuchadnezzar had a plan to make all of the nations conform and bow down to the idol he had made. However, when the music played, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow! The world has a plan for you, but I assure you, the plan God has for your life is far better. Remember, no one writes the story of the man or woman who simply falls in line.

Over the last few weeks, we’ve learned a few radical statements from the book of Daniel:

When culture shifts, WE STAND!

When the world is troubled, WE SPEAK TRUTH!

When the music plays, WE WON’T BOW!

We can’t change the world around us if we look like it. We must make up our minds and choose to be counter-cultural and Kingdom-minded!
