Gentleman, Start Your Engines!

Gentleman, Start Your Engines!

None of us likes to lose. We’ll work overtime. Put in the extra effort. Sacrifice sleep. Push through exhaustion. We want to know that when the race is over, we crossed the finish line well.

But sometimes, in our determination to win, we lose ourselves in the process.

So how do we win the race without losing who we are?

Jesus gives us an answer in the Beatitudes.

In doing so, He not only defines the true finish line, He shows us how to position ourselves to finish strong.

Here’s what I know. At the Daytona 500, nearly one-third of the time, the driver leading on the final lap doesn’t actually win the race. When the white flag waves, it’s not just about speed. It’s about position. Being in the right place at the right moment sets you up for the final sprint to the checkered flag.

This Sunday, we’ll look at a single Beatitude that may be one of the most practical teachings Jesus ever gave for men who want to succeed without sacrificing their souls.

And because it’s Father’s Day, we’ve put in a little extra effort to make the day special.

We’ll have a few incredible cars on display, some fun photo opportunities, a couple of surprises during the service, and a sweet gift for every dad in attendance.

Most importantly, it will be an opportunity for men and their families to gather together and encounter Jesus.

Gentlemen, start your engines.

I can’t wait to see you this Sunday.

Pastor Daniel
