Freedom Has a Price

Twenty-four years ago, on September 11th, our nation suffered the worst attack on our homeland since Pearl Harbor. The world changed that day.

Yet, I’ll never forget September 12th. On that day, America stood united. There were no labels of right or left. We were one people. That day, we truly were the land of the free because of the brave.

Yesterday, we were given another sobering reminder of the price of freedom. Charlie Kirk, a bold champion of faith and freedom, was assassinated while speaking at a campus event in Utah. His voice was silenced because someone didn’t like what he had to say. He believed in open dialogue and in working through differences with courage, conviction, and civility. For exercising his First Amendment right, he paid the ultimate price. I am heartbroken and praying for his family and for our nation.

How do we respond when liberty is attacked?

We return to what we learned on September 12, 2001: we remember who we are. We are Americans who believe these truths are self-evident; that all are created equal, endowed by their Creator with unalienable rights, including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We stand for these rights, not only because they are written into our Constitution, but because countless men and women have laid down their lives to secure them.

Today, many are feeling shock, anger, disbelief, and even disillusionment. But I believe we are at a TURNING POINT. What the enemy intended for evil, God will turn for good.

I see a generation rising. A generation hungry for truth, longing for a firm foundation, and searching for hope. I believe the ground is prepared for a fresh move of God.

This is a moment to stand together. To pray with urgency. To contend for more than the status quo. To carry forward the dream of one nation under God, with liberty and justice for all.

Twenty-four years after 9/11, and twenty-four hours after 9/10, my heart is heavy, but it is also full of expectancy. I am praying for our nation, and I am praying for you.

Believing for Revival,

Pastor Daniel
