Foundations Matter
When Jenna and I began building our home, we spent a lot of time thinking about the colors, cabinets, and countertops. What I don’t remember us ever discussing was the concrete, more specifically, the foundation. I have never heard a homeowner talk about how beautiful their foundation is, yet it is one of the most important parts of the house. The strength of the foundation determines the strength of what you can build.
I carry a deep burden to see a church made up of healthy homes where Jesus is the center, lives are built on a strong foundation, and the presence of the Lord is paramount and honored. For some of you, that may look like a household raising young children, currently single, or even empty nesters. Perhaps you’re in a season of rebuilding or rediscovering purpose. Whatever season of life you are in, let Christ be the firm foundation on which you can build your life, family, and home.
That is why we have devoted the entire month of February to the Home Improvement series. Our focus is on strengthening what God has entrusted to us, stewarding our lives, homes, and church family well.
Last week, we talked about the foundation of a healthy home. This week, we move to the next step, the framing. We will be asking an important question: “Is there a God-given design for a strong and healthy home?” I believe Scripture gives us clarity and hope as we build.
I invite you to join us this Sunday as we talk about how to frame a healthy home and build with intention. This message will speak to every stage of life and help each of us take a meaningful next step.
I also want to remind you that we are hosting a one-day Built to Last marriage conference on Saturday, February 28, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. This day is designed to strengthen homes and relationships, whether you are married, single, or single again, and will include practical workshops that speak to real life. Lunch and children’s ministry will be provided. This is an affordable investment into your life. Space is limited, so I encourage you to register soon.
Another important way we strengthen what God is building is through community. Grace Groups are a powerful place to grow, be encouraged, and be strengthened alongside others. There’s a place for everyone to be connected. We were not meant to build alone. Community plays a vital role in healthy lives and healthy homes.
There is so much happening in our church right now. Jenna and I are truly blown away by the goodness of God. We are praying for you, for your home, and for all that God is building in your life. See you on Sunday!
Blessings,
Pastor
