Are You Blessed?
Flip on the news, listen to the world around you, check social media, it’s all negative. No wonder so many are bound by fear and depression. Even in your circle of friends you’ve likely heard, “If it wasn’t for this pandemic…”, “If it wasn’t for this sickness…”, “If it wasn’t for the loss of this employee…”, “If I had a better job…”
Earlier this year I heard the Lord say, “Son, stop cursing the ground that I called you to bless!” I’ve taken that word to heart.
Life and death are in the power of the tongue. We have great power in the words we speak. With our words we will either invite the favor of God into our lives, or dismiss His favor. If you look around you and see a multitude of things that fail to succeed or produce as you intended, there is a good chance that you or someone around you has been speaking negatively over it.
Let me remind you of this truth. You were created to be blessed, and to release blessing. As David reminds us in Psalm 1:2-3, “his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.” That’s the word. We either believe it or not. You were called to be blessed and prosper! Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
Let me encourage to take a moment today to bless your spouse, bless your children, bless your business, bless your church, bless your friends and neighbors. In the process, don’t forget to speak those blessings over yourself! I promise you as you begin to proclaim blessings you’ll see the multiplied effects.
I’ve enjoyed hearing your testimonies during this sermon series about how you’ve seen the blessings of God manifesting in your lives. I know this, God has so much more in store! Join us this weekend online or in person as we continue to learn more about the mystery and power of blessings.
The brand new quarter of Grace Equip groups will be starting on April 11. You can check the Church Center app right now to find a group to plug into. We know that life is better together. I would encourage you to find a place of meaningful connection with your church family.
I am also looking forward to celebrating Resurrection weekend. We will be coming together for a Good Friday Communion Service in the Dome on Friday, April 2 at 6pm. This will be a reflective and meaningful time of remembering Christ’s sacrifice upon the cross and sharing in communion. On that Sunday, we will come together to celebrate Resurrection Sunday. This will be an all family event.
Grace Kids has an exciting day planned with egg hunts, bounce houses, and a powerful Gospel presentation that your children will surely enjoy. In the Dome we will present a message entitled, “The Veil”. People are looking for hope in a season that has not seemed very hope-filled. You and I have an opportunity to be able to share that hope. Easter presents a wonderful opportunity to share that hope. Chances are high that your friends and neighbors are more likely to come to church if you simply would reach out and invite them. Don’t let this moment pass you by. Invite someone you know to join us in the Dome or from their home.
Jenna and I look forward to seeing you this weekend. We love you!
