Day 23

A Church Alive

By: Daniel Norris

“He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.”
(Colossians 1:28, NIV)

At our church, we only do four things. We awaken hearts, connect in community, train for purpose, and send into fullness. This is not just our idea of a healthy church. It is God’s design, clearly modeled in Colossians 1:28.

I have watched a young family walk this journey. They first encountered our church through an outreach event. Two weeks later, the father gave his life to Jesus. Since then, the entire family has stepped into the life of the church. They joined a group, began walking through discipleship, and have grown stronger together. This church has stood with them through health battles, financial challenges, and life’s ups and downs. Today, they are more rooted, more fulfilled, and more alive than ever before. Why? Because Christ offers life in all its fullness.

That is our mission. To awaken hearts to the beauty of Jesus. To build a church where the least, the last, and the lost can find healing, family, and belonging. Ultimately, we help people discover the life that Jesus gave His life for. He called this the fullness of life.

Imagine a place where lives are transformed, where the broken are restored, where the prodigal finds a home, and where the skeptic discovers truth. That is the kind of church Jesus had in mind. That is what we are building every day.

This mission is not reserved for pastors alone. It belongs to every follower of Jesus. As Paul said, “I work tirelessly to present everyone fully mature in Christ.” That is not just a ministry job description. It is a calling for all of us who have been changed by grace and want others to experience that same life.

This is a church alive. A church that makes a difference. One person. One family. One encounter at a time.

Reflection:

  • How has the mission of the church personally impacted you?
  • Who around you needs to experience such life change?
  • How will you make this mission personal this year?

Prayer:

Father, thank You for trusting me with Your mission. Restore my passion for souls and service. Help me see every person as someone You love deeply and desire to reach. Use me to awaken hearts, build connection, and send others into fullness. Let my life reflect the truth of who Jesus really is. I want to live on mission with You today. In Jesus’ name, amen.
