Day 18

Send Revival Again

By: Donnie Lewis

If My people who are called by My name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
(2 Chronicles 7:14, NKJV)

Every great move of God throughout history has been birthed out of a deep hunger and a desperate cry from His people. Revival is not simply a series of meetings or an emotional experience. It is the reawakening of God’s people to His presence, His purpose, and His power. It begins in the hearts of believers. It starts in the church.

In 2 Chronicles 7:14, God outlines a divine pattern for revival. It begins with His people, not the unbeliever or the culture around us. He speaks directly to His covenant people. “If My people who are called by My name…” Spiritual healing starts with the church coming back to a place of humility, prayer, repentance, and a renewed pursuit of His presence.

First, we need to humble ourselves. Revival starts with humility. Pride keeps us from admitting our need for God. In humility, we acknowledge, “Lord, we cannot do this without You.” Humility is not weakness; it is surrender. When we humble ourselves, we are saying, “Lord, You are God, and we are not.” This is where renewal begins.

Second, we need to pray and seek His face. Prayer is the lifeblood of revival. It is not just asking for things, but longing for His presence. Seeking His face is yearning for His heart, not His hand. Revival will never come to a prayerless church. When believers unite in fervent prayer, strongholds break, hearts soften, and the atmosphere shifts, creating a channel of healing for a broken world.

Lastly, we need to turn from our wicked ways. True repentance is more than saying “I am sorry.” It is changing direction. It is renewing our minds and choosing to think differently. When the people of God repent, God’s power is released to restore and allow His promise “to forgive their sin and heal their land” to manifest. A renewed church becomes a conduit of healing for a broken world.

When we cry, “Lord, renew Your Church,” we are really asking Him to start with us. Revival does not start with a crowd; it starts with one heart set ablaze for God, which can ignite a church, a community, and even a nation.

We do not need a new program. We need a fresh hunger for more of His Presence and deeper repentance. God is looking for people who are willing to humble themselves, pray, seek His face, and turn from sin.

Reflection:

  • What area in my own life needs to be humbled before God?
  • How can I make seeking God’s face, not just His blessings, a priority?
  • Is there any sin or attitude that I need to turn from so revival can start with me?
  • How can I help cultivate a spirit of revival in my church and community?

Prayer:

Lord, send revival and let it begin in me. Humble my heart, stir a deeper hunger for Your presence, and lead me into true repentance. Teach me to seek Your face above everything else. Renew Your church, heal our land, and let Your Spirit move again in power. In Jesus’ name, amen.
