A Moment Five Years in the Making

This Sunday marks a moment five years in the making.

It was 2020, and we were in the midst of the pandemic.  Our trustee meeting was being held in the Family Life Center, and one of our trustees asked, “When are we going to do something about this space?”

That conversation sparked a vision that led us to develop a master plan for our campus.

What we didn’t anticipate were the delays and challenges that would follow: building an off-site retention pond, constructing a new access road, and laying the infrastructure required by the county before we could even begin. These unexpected requirements added years and significant cost, but we never lost sight of the promise: finish what was started and finish it for the future.

As Hernando County continues to grow, so does our responsibility to prepare. We believe now more than ever that our church must be ready to serve, disciple, and reach a growing community.

That’s why this Sunday is so important. We’re officially kicking off the demolition of the Family Life Center and the reimagining of what this space can become.

Picture this:

– A recreation space where students connect and grow.

– A community space where families gather, celebrate, and belong.

– A ministry space that seats 100 to 400, designed to host events, outreach, and life-changing moments in God’s presence.

This Sunday, we begin.

Following the morning service, I’ll invite everyone to join us for a short but meaningful Kickoff Celebration.

We’ll have light refreshments, something fun for the kids, and a few special moments to mark this new beginning together. It won’t be long, but it will be powerful—and I want everyone to be part of it.

Also, since it’s the 4th of July weekend, I’ll be sharing a timely message titled “One Nation Under God?”

What did our founding fathers truly believe?

Did they desire a nation with God at the center or one where faith was kept out of public life?

We’ll explore their original vision and discover how we can realign ourselves with it today.

It’s going to be a powerful weekend. One of vision, celebration, and fresh beginnings.

I can’t wait to see you.

With Expectancy,

Pastor Daniel
