Parents, how was the first week back to school?

Summer comes to an end, school starts back up, and suddenly we are settling into that familiar rhythm again. Early mornings. Getting everyone awake, dressed, fed, out the door, and to school on time.

That first week can be a shock to the system.

But it also establishes a rhythm. And that rhythm can carry us through the rest of the year.

I’ve learned that success is rarely built in one big moment. More often, it is built through small disciplines repeated over time.

I say it often, I’ve chosen to make consistency my superpower.

That is especially true in our walk with Jesus.

It is the consistent discipline of getting into the Word. Spending time with Jesus. Making church community a priority. Showing up when it would be easier to stay home. Serving. Giving. Praying. And never missing an opportunity to share Christ with the people God puts around us.

Those things can feel small and insignificant on any given day, but remember, consistency compounds. Small steps, taken faithfully over time, produce big results.

As school gets back into full swing, I want to encourage you to establish a spiritual rhythm for your family as well. Make Sundays with your church family a priority. There are so many exciting things happening at Grace over the next several weeks, and I don’t want you to miss what God is doing.

And don’t forget, Sundays are not the only opportunity to build that rhythm.

On Wednesdays, we have something for the whole family. Royal Rangers and Girls Clubs are underway for Grace Kids. ASCEND is wide open for our students. We have several Grace Equip classes available for adults, and for those ready to take the next step in their spiritual journey, Journey 1, 2, and 3 are available as well. In the next few weeks, we will also launch a brand-new semester of Grace Groups.

Last week we started a brand-new series called Storm Season. We looked at Jonah and discovered that some storms are storms of correction. God loved Jonah enough to use the storm to put him back on the path of His purpose.

This Sunday, I have an encouraging word for anyone who feels like you are facing significant headwinds. We will look at the story found in Mark 4 and a very different kind of storm. This one was not correction. It was opposition.

Let’s make church a priority. Let’s make community important. Let’s make spiritual growth intentional. Let’s make consistency our superpower. Let’s keep moving forward.

Jenna and I are praying for you. We believe in you, and I’m looking forward to worshiping with you this weekend.

Believing for Revival,

Pastor Daniel

PS – Back to Church Sunday is coming up on August 30th. I encourage you to be thinking about who you can invite and begin praying for them. We’ll have an amazing morning for the whole family, including our Grace Kids Back to School Bash with a giant obstacle course, free hot dogs and nachos for the kids during service. Pray about who God is placing on your heart, send them a text, make the phone call, or hand them an invite card that will be available in the lobby. You never know what one simple invitation could lead to.
